HEBRON, June 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Monday detained 15 Palestinians, including women and children, following an attack carried out by colonists on residents in Khirbet al-Majaz, located in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to local sources.
Osama Makhamra, a local media activist, told WAFA News Agency that Israeli settlers released their livestock into cultivated Palestinian farmland planted with agricultural crops and fruit-bearing trees, causing massive damage to large portions owned by residents of Khirbet al-Majaz.
Local residents attempted to halt the colonists from further destroying their farmlands, they were reportedly attacked by the colonists. Instead of restraining the colonists, Israeli forces attacked the Palestinians, chased them through the area, and detained 15 people, claiming they had “assaulted the colonists.”
The detentions come amid a surge in colonist violence in Masafer Yatta, where Palestinians face an ongoing campaign of forced displacement and systematic denial of access to their agricultural and pastoral lands.
