ATHENS, June 30, 2025 (WAFA) – The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), representing more than 110 million workers in 134 countries across five continents, strongly condemned the alleged operations that company SINEDOR, a Greek steel company, is carrying out with Israeli companies. The WFTU highlighted that the products offered by SINEDOR are being used to develop tanks involved in committing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the WFTU strongly condemned any collaboration with the war machine of the murderous state of Israel and called for a boycott of Israel, especially regarding activities linked to its military operations and crimes against Palestinians.
The statement noted:
On January 26, 2024, the International Criminal Court ordered Israel to “take all possible measures” to “prevent” genocide in Gaza, recognizing that some of the rights claimed by South Africa and for which it sought protection were plausible.
On May 26, 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel must “immediately” stop its military offensive in Rafah, southern Gaza. This decision came in response to South Africa’s request as an emergency measure, stating that Israel’s activities in Rafah constitute a “genocidal” operation that threatens the survival of the Palestinian people.
On May 20, 2024, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court announced he had requested arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Galant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The WFTU concluded that if the reports about SINEDOR’s collaboration with the Israeli murderous state are true, it demands the immediate and unconditional end of this partnership without exception.
The statement said that there should be no support for the Israeli crimes and called for an end to the genocide and the freedom of Palestine. “No support for the Israeli crimes. Stop the Genocide – Free Palestine.”
