MUNICH, February 15, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met separately with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon and Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly today on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference. The meetings were attended by Palestine’s Ambassador to Germany, Laith Arafa.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Mustafa reviewed the latest developments in Palestine and the region and briefed them on the Palestinian Government's efforts to implement its plan for humanitarian relief, early recovery, and emergency response, including temporary shelter provision, restoration of essential services, and progress in institutional reform and development.
Mustafa reaffirmed Palestine’s categorical rejection of all plans aimed at forcibly displacing the Palestinian people, whether from Gaza or the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as well as Israel’s settlement expansion and annexation schemes, in addition to its decision to ban UNRWA’s operations, which aims to liquidate the refugee issue.
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for their support for diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza.
He urged increased international pressure on Israel, the occupying Power, to halt its aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and called for intensified joint efforts to implement international resolutions—particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2735—aimed at securing a permanent ceasefire, advancing reconstruction plans, ending the occupation, unifying Gaza and the West Bank, and realizing the independence of the State of Palestine.
Additionally, the Prime Minister discussed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between Palestine and both Slovenia and Canada across various areas.
