Palestinian administrative detainee dies behind Israeli bars

RAMALLAH,  January 13, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that Moataz Abu Zneid, a Palestinian administrative detainee, from Dura, south of Hebron, has died in the Israeli Soroka Hospital.

The two sources said in a joint statement that the Civil Affairs Authority informed them of Abu Zneid's death, describing it as a new crime committed by the occupation prison system.

With the death of Abu Zneid, the number of prisoners and detainees who have died in the occupation prisons since the beginning of the war of genocide has risen to 55, and they are the only ones whose identities are known in light of the ongoing crime of enforced disappearance against hundreds of detainees from Gaza. This number is the highest in history in a period that is the bloodiest, while and the number of slain prisoners since 1967 whose identities are known has risen to 292 martyrs, according to the Prisoners' Club.

The number of prisoners in the occupation prisons who were recognized by the prison administration until the beginning of December is more than ten thousand and 300, while the crime of enforced disappearance continues to be imposed on hundreds of Gaza detainees in the camps affiliated with the occupation army.

Among the prisoners are 89 female prisoners, no less than 345 children, and 3428 administrative detainees.
