Occupation forces continue closure of entrances of Salfit and surrounding villages

SALFIT, January 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued on Monday evening to impose closures on the entrances of Salfit city and its surrounding villages since this morning.

Residents reported that the occupation forces are persistently blocking the northern entrance to Salfit City, and the entrances to nearby towns and villages with iron gates.

Additionally, dirt roads have been closed, military checkpoints have been erected at most entrances and movement in and out of the areas has been restricted, isolating the towns and villages.

In a related context, Firas Thiab, the mayor of Deir Estia, stated that the occupation bulldozers closed the town’s main entrance with dirt mounds. He indicated that the occupation forces are enforcing a policy of collective punishment, tightening restrictions on citizens’ movement.
