Colonists establish a new pastoral colonial outpost in the Bethlehem area

BETHLEHEM, January 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Colonists established on Sunday a new pastoral colonial outpost on Palestinian land in the town of Nahalin west of Bethlehem, according to a local official.

The head of the Nahalin Municipal Council, Jamal Najajra, reported that a group of colonists set up two large sheds for raising livestock in the Ain Fares area, west of Nahalin, to establish a pastoral outpost there as a prelude to creating a larger colonial outpost.

He pointed out that this arbitrary action will prevent farmers and shepherds from accessing their land in the Ain Fares area, which covers about 2,000 dunums of land.

He also noted that the said area has been subjected to repeated attacks by colonists from the illegal colony of Beitar Illit, including the dumping of sewage onto Palestinian land, which has caused crop damage and water contamination.

Earlier today, colonists set up a new colonial outpost on lands belonging to Palestinian citizens in the village of Qaryout, south of Nablus.

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission announced on Sunday a record rise in violations committed by Israeli occupation forces and colonists against Palestinians and their properties in 2024.
