NABLUS, January 1, 2025 (WAFA) – Three Palestinian civilians, including a child, were injured by live ammunition, and two others were detained during an Israeli military raid on the Old City of Nablus on Tuesday evening, according to medical sources.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that the injured included a 16-year-old boy who was shot in the leg, a 26-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh, and a 30-year-old man who was shot in the back. All three were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
According to local sources, Israeli special forces stormed the Old City, followed by military vehicles and jeeps that moved through Faisal and Hattin Streets and the Old City area. The incursion triggered confrontations between local residents and the Israeli forces.
Witnesses said the special forces surrounded a café in the Old City, leading to confrontations during which the military fired live ammunition, resulting in the injuries.
During the raid, the Israeli forces arrested the café owner, identified as Ahmed Qadri, along with another individual whose identity remains unknown.
This incident marks another escalation in tensions in the region, drawing condemnation from local residents and rights groups.
