JERUSALEM, December 27, 2024 (WAFA) - Thousands of worshippers performed the Friday noon prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards in Jerusalem amid strict military measures imposed by Israeli forces.
The Department of Islamic Waqf (Endowments) in occupied Jerusalem reported that around 40,000 worshipers performed the Friday prayer at the mosque.
Eyewitnesses also reported that colonists carried out religious rituals at Cotton Merchants Gate, also known as Bab al-Qattanin, one of the gates leading into al-Aqsa from the western side, to celebrate the so-called Jewish festival of Hanukkah.
Meanwhile, Israeli police prevented several Palestinians from entering the mosque and praying inside.
