GAZA, December 26, 2024 (WAFA) – At least 15 people were killed and dozens more injured in the latest Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which targeted two residential homes in Gaza City and its southern and northern districts.
WAFA correspondent reported that an airstrike hit a home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The targeted home, belonging to the Hathat family, was completely destroyed. According to local sources, at least 13 people, including women and children, were killed in the strike, and several others were wounded.
As rescue teams continue to search through the rubble, reports suggest that 40 people may still be trapped under the debris.
In another airstrike in the southern part of Gaza City, two more people were killed and 20 others injured when Israeli warplanes bombed the home of the Esleem family in the Al-Sabra neighborhood. Seven individuals remain trapped under the wreckage of the destroyed building, and medical teams have confirmed the recovery of at least one body from the scene.
Meanwhile, Israeli military forces continued to fire on civilian areas in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, and further demolished residential buildings in northern Gaza.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 45,399 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 107,940 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
