RAMALLAH, December, 24, 2024 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stressed the need for joint coordination between the various relief organizations operating in the Gaza Strip, which contributes to justice and transparency in the distribution of aid, and protects it from theft in light of what our people are suffering from in terms of food, medicine, housing and clothing shortages.
The Council of Ministers discussed in its weekly session today, Tuesday, the political and field developments and the ongoing efforts to stop the war of extermination against our people in the Strip, and to intensify international pressure to open more crossings and bring in larger quantities of aid shipments.
The Council reviewed a presentation by Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan on the occupation's continued targeting of medical facilities in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was its tight siege and the destruction of some sections of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, and the occupation forces' call for medical staff and patients to evacuate it, and the international contacts that the ministry is making with various international partners to stop the occupation's crimes against the health sector. It also reviewed the efforts of the "Health" to strengthen its staff in health facilities in Jenin Governorate.
\The Council also listened to a presentation by the Minister of Interior, Major General Ziad Hab Al-Rih, on the field developments in Jenin camp, the efforts made to ensure civil peace, enforce the law, and provide security and protection for our people, and the keenness of the security establishment to protect and ensure the safety of citizens during the field operation to enforce the law, while the Council stressed the need to enhance the steadfastness of our people, and instruct the directors of government institutions to enhance field presence and stand more closely on the needs of citizens.
The Council of Ministers approved the launch of the strategic planning process to prepare strategic plans for the years 2025-2027, based on the vision of a unified Palestine, and the national program for development and development consisting of 7 government initiatives and 4 basic pillars for institutional reform and improving the quality of services, in addition to the reconstruction and development plan in the Gaza Strip, as all departments will prepare their strategic plans in partnership with various components of society, which are expected to be approved at the end of the first quarter of 2025, to be launched in conjunction with the general budget.
The Council also approved the adoption of the application of the construction cost price index for construction projects in the northern governorates on projects that were halted as a result of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, or were completed before the aggression and the project file was not closed and the final claim was not issued, in addition to future projects in the southern governorates, until the possibility of updating construction cost prices becomes available.
The Council approved the appointment of 15 employees, including judicial clerks and notification clerks, to enhance the work of settlement courts and expedite the adjudication of files and cases pending before these courts, in a way that contributes to enhancing citizens' rights and supports government reform efforts.
It also approved the provision of veterinary vaccines within the grant of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), to vaccinate more than 830 thousand heads of livestock against 4 types of diseases, to protect livestock and enhance farmers' resilience.
