JERUSALEM, June 30, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli-controlled municipality in occupied Jerusalem delivered a demolition order on Monday to the family of Palestinian prisoner Aziz Abu Ramouz, targeting their home in the town of Silwan, under the pretext of "building without a permit."
The home salted for demolition, which has stood for several years, shelters a grieving family that has already endured the loss of son Wadi’ Abu Ramouz, who was killed in January 2023, and the continued imprisonment of Aziz Abu Ramouz, detained since the beginning of 2025.
The demolition order is a part of broader Israeli policies aimed at displacing and restricting Palestinian residents of Jerusalem, through systematic home demolitions and denial of housing rights.
Approximately 33 homes have been demolished in al-Bustan alone since October 7, 2023, as part of an ongoing policy of forced displacement that threatens the existence of dozens of Palestinian families in the area.
