GAZA, December 22, 2024 (WAFA) – Five Palestinians were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike late last night that targeted a home in the city of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli fighter jets bombed the home of the Abu Samra family on Al-Mazra'a Street, east of Deir al-Balah. The attack resulted in the killing of five individuals, including women and children, while others sustained injuries.
The injured, including several children and women, were rushed to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for treatment. Meanwhile, rescue teams are continuing their search for missing individuals under the rubble of the destroyed building.
Since the beginning of the Israeli assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the region has witnessed a catastrophic loss of life, with nearly 153,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority being women and children.
Over 11,000 people have gone missing, and entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble. The ongoing blockade and bombardments have led to widespread food and water shortages, further fueling the humanitarian crisis.
The international community has condemned the Israeli assault, with the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
