GAZA, December 17, 2024 (WAFA) – Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, reported on Tuesday evening that the Israeli military targeted its electricity generators, oxygen network and water tanks, endangering the lives of patients.
Hospital Director Hussam Abu Safiya described the situation as "black days" in a video posted on social media.
Abu Safiya stated that the Israeli army deliberately "booby-trapped streets surrounding the hospital and targeted the intensive care unit through snipers stationed on the roofs of nearby buildings and quadcopter aircraft."
He added that the hospital's roofs were also targeted, damaging water tanks, noting that attacks on the electricity generators and oxygen network caused significant damage.
The director explained that the hospital receives dozens of injuries daily due to the Israeli army’s targeting of civilian homes and gatherings.
He expressed regret over the lack of response to his previous appeals to protect healthcare facilities from attacks.
Abu Safiya revealed that there are 64 wounded and six cases in intensive care, affirming that every Israeli targeting forces the hospital crews to evacuate patients into the corridors, which threatens their lives.
