GAZA, Saturday, August 17, 2024 (WAFA) - Early this morning, at least 11 Palestinian civilians were killed, and several others were injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas across the Gaza Strip.

In the town of Al-Zawaida, located in central Gaza, ten individuals lost their lives and others sustained injuries when Israeli fighter jets bombarded tents housing displaced persons. Local sources reported that the airstrikes included three separate attacks near the southern entrance of the town.

In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, one person was killed and others injured when an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building. 

Additionally, a child was wounded by gunfire targeting tents for displaced people near Hamad City, northwest of Khan Younis. Further casualties were reported when Israeli strikes hit a house near the European Hospital, east of Khan Younis.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in 40,005 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 92,401 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
