Israeli forces install iron gate near Tulkarm

TULKARM, Thursday, August 8, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Thursday installed an iron gate under the Jabara Bridge, south of Tulkarm city.

Local sources told WAFA that the occupation forces installed an iron gate under the bridge, and obstructed the movement of vehicles, especially since this area is adjacent to the Jabara military checkpoint, which is the southern entrance to the city, which connects it to the villages of Al-Kafriyat and Qalqilya Governorate.

They added that this measure caused long lines of vehicles to line up in both directions as well as a traffic crisis in the area.

Two weeks ago, the occupation bulldozers closed the same road with dirt mounds, and prevented vehicles from passing, as part of the collective punishment policy imposed by the occupation authorities on citizens in the West Bank, including Tulkarm Governorate.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces installed in May a similar gate at Enab military checkpoint, the eastern entrance to Tulkarm, which is the checkpoint through which vehicles coming from the West Bank governorates pass to reach or exit Tulkarm, and tightened its military measures by opening it for specific hours and intermittent periods subject to the moods of the occupation soldiers stationed at the checkpoint.
