GAZA, Saturday, May 11, 2024 (WAFA) – Several Palestinian civilians were reported killed this evening as Israeli fighter jets carpet-bombed the eastern areas of Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
The sources reported that Israeli warplanes launched successive fire belts on residential areas east of the camp, resulting in the murder and injuries of several civilians. The exact toll is yet to be determined, amidst fears of the Israeli occupation committing a new massacre in the camp.
Additionally, Israeli fighter jets carried out fierce airstrikes around the displaced people's shelters at the heart of Jabalia, as well as the Ahmad ibn Hanbal Mosque on Al-Sekka Street east of the camp.
Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes bombed the house of journalist Anas al-Sharif, a correspondent for Al Jazeera in Jabalia refugee camp, reflecting the deliberate targeting of journalists and their families' homes since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza.
Israeli warplanes and artillery continued to unleash successive and intense carpet bombings in several areas north of the Gaza Strip, in addition to eastern and western areas of Gaza City.
Meantime, local sources confirmed the deliberate destruction of dozens of homes by the Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza over the last few hours.
In a preliminary toll, the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7th last year has resulted in 34,971 documented Palestinian fatalities, in addition to 78,641 injuries and thousands missing.
In addition, thousands are feared dead under the rubble as ambulance and rescue teams continue to face enormous challenges reaching them, with Israeli occupation forces curtailing the movement of—and sometimes attacking—ambulance and civil defense teams.
