RAMALLAH, Monday, October 16, 2023 (WAFA) - Hussein al-Sheikh, the Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), today discussed with the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, at his Ramallah office the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
“We discussed ways to have calm and immediately end the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, and ways to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Strip by opening safe pathways for the entry of medical supplies, and food, as well as restoring water and electricity, in addition to our rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians outside their homeland and the necessity of protecting civilians,” said the PLO official in a statement.
“I called on the United Nations to intervene immediately and mobilize the international community and not take a position of condemnation only. I also stressed the need to have the political horizon, which will ensure security, calm and stability in the region,” he said.
