RAMALLAH, Thursday, September 7, 2023 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas's meeting with the Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, Michael Martin, as well as the stabbing attack in Jerusalem were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Quds dailies quoted President Abbas saying that Israel’s unilateral measures and settler terrorism demand an effective international intervention.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted the Irish minister saying his country supports a political settlement between Palestine and Israel based on United Nations resolutions and the two-state solution.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam highlighted the stabbing attack in Jerusalem and said three Israelis were injured, one of them critical, while the assailant was caught.
Al-Ayyam said Israel demolished 14 homes and structures in Anata, east of Jerusalem, and issued dozens of demolition orders in Jerusalem and Qarawat Bani Hassan in the Salfit district in the north of the West Bank.
Al-Quds said clashes broke out following an Israeli army raid of Jenin refugee camp during which a leader of Al-Aqsa Brigades was captured.
The paper also quoted the Israeli rights group, Ir Amim, saying that Israeli parties want to cancel any subject in the Palestinian curriculum that has to do with the Palestinian identity and quoted a former Mossad chief saying Israel practices apartheid against the Palestinians.
Al-Ayyam said the fascist and racist Israeli finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, ordered to legalization of three settlement outposts.
It quoted American columnist Thomas Freidman saying that Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israeli government wants normalization with Saudi Arabia in order to achieve its dream of annexing the occupied West Bank.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted the Arab League chief saying that efforts are underway to hold a ministerial meeting to implement the Arab Peace Initiative as called for by Arab and European countries.
Al-Quds said the West Bank public school teachers said they would go on strike to protest their low salaries, while al-Ayyam said only a limited number of teachers heeded the call for the strike.
