RAMALLAH, Friday, May 5, 2023 (WAFA) – Weather today is extremely hot to hot, dry and occasionally dusty in daytime and partly cloudy and slightly cold in nighttime, particularly in the mountains, with a rise of temperature soars to 8°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moderate to strong easterly to southwesterly wind blows in daytime, and light to moderate wind prevails in the night. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 15°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 33°C and a low of 14°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 22°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 20°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Saturday’s temperature is set to plummet to 3°C below the seasonal average, paving the way to partly cloudy and mild conditions in daytime and slightly cold to relatively cold conditions in nighttime.
An additional drop of temperature is anticipated on Sunday, reaching 5°C below the seasonal average and paving the way to partly cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold conditions in the mountains and mild conditions in other districts.
Monday’s temperature is set to further drop and reach 7°C below the seasonal average with partly cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold conditions in the mountains and mild conditions in other districts. There is a chance of isolated light rainfall.
PMD warns people against being directly exposed to the sun, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grassy areas on Friday.
