Weather: Low-pressure cold front affects country bringing temperature down to below season’s average

RAMALLAH, Saturday, April 29, 2023 (WAFA) – An extension of a low pressure and a relatively cold front affects Palestine today causing temperature to plummet to 5 to 6°C below the seasonal average. Sporadic rain showers are expected with occasional thunderstorms in the northern and central regions, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are northwesterly to southwesterly, moderate to active, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 10°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 15°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 16°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 14°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold to cold conditions continue to prevail tomorrow, Sunday, with no change in temperature. The chance remains for sporadic light rainfall, particularly in the northern and central districts.

Monday’s temperature is expected to rise but remains 3°C below the seasonal average.

Another rise in temperature is expected on Tuesday, but remains below the seasonal averages, said the PMD.
