RAMALLAH, Sunday, February 26, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities today closed a road near the Lions' Gate, also known as Bab al-Asbat, in Jerusalem’s Old City, before proceeding with the construction works on the road for the benefit of re-installing the electronic gates there, according to local sources.

The occupation authorities began early morning with construction works on a road outside Bab al-Asbat to re-install the metal detectors, which if installed, would prohibit the entry of vehicles into the Old City of Jerusalem.

In the meantime, Israeli authorities turned a plot of land in the neighborhood of Silwan into a parking lot, designated for the sole use of settlers.
