NABLUS, Friday, January 20, 2023 (WAFA) – At least six Palestinian civilians were reported injured today and 15 vehicles were partly damaged during an attack by Israeli settlers on the village of Jorish, to the east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Raed Abu Jamus, the mayor of the village, told WAFA that confrontations erupted following a provocative incursion by army-backed Israeli settlers into an outpost which they set up on the outlasts of the village.

He said two Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated rounds fired by the Israeli occupation forces, whereas another four young men were beaten up and injured by the attacking settlers. Meantime, about 15 vehicles were attacked and partially vandalized by the attackers in the village.

Earlier today, scores of Israeli settlers placed caravans on a Palestinian-owned land near the village in a prelude to establish a new settlement outpost.

Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

There are over 650,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
