RAMALLAH, January 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening detained a 17-year-old Palestinian minor suffering from liver cirrhosis from the town of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah, according to local and security sources.
Sources told WAFA that Israeli forces stormed the town from its eastern and western entrances, while deploying foot patrols throughout the area. The forces fired live ammunition, tear gas canisters, and sound bombs to intimidate residents and force them off the streets.
The detained minor, who suffers from liver cirrhosis, was identified as Mohammad Ammar Amin Awawdeh.
