RAMALLAH, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 (WAFA) - Exports increased by 26% and imports by 7% in August compared to July, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
Exports increased by 12% compared to August of last year and reached $154.9 million while imports also increased by 30% compared to August 2021 and reached $729.6 million, said the PCBS.
Exports to Israel increased in August by 24% compared to July and it represented 91% of total exports in August. At the same time, exports to other countries increased by 52% during the same period.
Imports from Israel increased by 4% in August compared to July and it represented 56% of total imports in August. At the same time, imports from other countries increased by 10% compared to July.
The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed an increase in trade deficit by 2% in August compared to July. It also increased by 36% compared to August 2021 and reached $574.7 million, said the PCBS.
