HEBRON, August 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Terrorist Israeli colonists on Saturday set fire to a vehicle and sprayed racist slogans on the walls of a house in the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron, according to a local official.
Mayor of Surif Hazem Ghneimat told WAFA that colonists from the Bat Ayin colony, illegally built on Palestinian lands northwest of Hebron, stormed the Deir al-Nil area of the town, attacked residents’ homes, and set fire to a vehicle belonging to a local resident.
Colonists also damaged another vehicle, attempted to set fire to a house, and sprayed racist slogans on the walls of another house.
According to the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out 11,074 attacks during the first half of 2026.
The attacks included land and property seizures, colonial expansion, forced displacement, field executions, vandalism, land leveling, tree uprooting, closures, and checkpoints that sever Palestinian geographic contiguity.
The commission’s data showed that the highest number of attacks was recorded in Hebron governorate, with 2,224 attacks, followed by Ramallah and al-Bireh with 2,175 attacks, Nablus with 2,095, and Bethlehem with 1,137 attacks during the same period.
