RAMALLAH, Tuesday, September 07, 2021 (WAFA) – An increase in the number of building licenses in Palestine in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the previous quarter was due to the increase in the number of new building licenses, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

A total of 2,649 building licenses were issued in the second quarter of 2021, of which 1,661 are new buildings.

The total number of building licenses issued in the second quarter increased by 18% compared with the first quarter and increased by 118% compared with the second quarter of 2020, where the number of new building licenses increased by 29% compared with the first quarter of 2021 and increased by 104% compared with the second quarter of 2020, said the PCBS.

The total number of licensed dwellings was 5,158, of which 3,917 were new dwellings and 1,241 were existing dwellings.

The number of new dwellings in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 33% compared with the first quarter of 2021 and increased by 127% compared with the second quarter of 2020, it added.
