RAMALLAH,
Tuesday, August 17, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is mostly clear and hot in most
districts and extremely hot in the Jordan Valley in daytime with a slight drop
in temperature, which approaches 2°C above the seasonal average, according to
the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moderate
conditions are expected in the morning and night hours, especially in the
mountains. Light to moderate southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime,
while light to moderate northwesterly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are
low.
Temperature
in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 30°C
and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C.
In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to
reach a high of 39°C and a low of 27°C while it is expected to reach a high of
30°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Wednesday’s
temperature is set to further slightly drop with hot to very hot conditions in
daytime and moderate conditions in the morning and night hours, particularly in
the mountains.
No
significant change is expected in the weather conditions on Thursday.
However,
Friday’s temperature is set to rise and approach 3°C above the seasonal
average, causing the heat stress to intensify, particularly in daytime.
People
are warned against being exposed to the sun for long period, particularly from
11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
