RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 13, 2020 (WAFA) – One Palestinian has died after contracting coronavirus, 432 new cases were confirmed and 1022 patients have recovered in Palestine in the past 24 hours, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
She said an 8-year-old child from the town of Idna, in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, the current Palestinian epicenter of the disease, has died from the coronavirus. He was reported to have serious health issues. A total of 115 deaths have been recorded so far in Palestine.
Alkaila said 107 of the new cases were recorded in the Hebron district and 149 were in the Jerusalem district, including 125 in the Israeli-occupied city.
Among the recoveries, 445 were in the Hebron district and 504 in the Jerusalem district, about 200 in the city itself, adding that recovery rate has reached 61 percent of the cases while the active ones make about 38.4 percent.
Alkaila said 22 patients are currently in intensive care among them four are on respirators.
