RAMALLAH, September 20, 2012 (WAFA) – Minister of Prisoners Issa Qaraqi, in a statement Thursday, said that preparations are under way to deport striking Palestinian prisoner Samer al-Barq to Egypt, following serious deterioration in his health.
Qaraqi said that al-Barq, who has been on a hunger strike for 122 days, protesting his administrative detention without charge or trial, requested to be deported to Egypt due to the severe deterioration in his health.
He added that Al-Barq will be transferred by an ambulance to a hospital in Egypt to get the necessary treatment.
