NICOSIA, February 16, 2012 (WAFA) – Greek and Turkish Cypriots together with Palestinian and Syrian activists are planning to hold a demonstration in Nicosia Thursday to protest a planned visit to the island by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a press release.
“We will express our opposition and expose the hypocrisy of the Cyprus Government and the ruling class who enter geopolitical and military agreements for the sake of developing with the criminal state the gas deposits discovered beneath the east Mediterranean Sea,” said the statement.
The protesters will carry signs saying: “Greece-Cyprus-Israel: No to This Alliance.”
