JERUSALEM, August 4, 2011 (WAFA)-Fire broke out, Thursday in the woods of Jabal AL-Mukaber, Southeast of East Jerusalem.
Witnesses said that Israeli fire crews are trying to extinguish the fire, which is feared to spread towards the “Peace forest”, as called by the Israeli municipality of Jerusalem, and to Silwan, a town south of Al-Aqsa holy mosque.
They said that the Israeli police closed the entire area and allowed fire teams and trucks to work in the area to control the fire.
Reasons behind the fire are still unknown.
