RAMALLAH, April 11, 2026 (WAFA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry called on Saturday for the Palestinian issue not to be ignored amid the rapidly evolving situation in the region.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement that ignoring the Palestinian issue, which she described as "the core issue," and attempting to replace it with temporary solutions or postpone its resolution indefinitely, inevitably leads to a perpetuation of cycles of violence and confrontation.

She added that the Palestinian issue is "the heart of the Middle East crisis," warning against allowing it to become sidelined by current military and political circumstances.

She noted that pushing this "key issue" to the margins of the regional agenda carries the long-term risk of a profound destabilization with global repercussions.

She also pointed to the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, stressing that the ongoing developments undermine efforts to achieve a two-state solution.

She called on the international community to prioritize a solution to the Palestinian issue and strengthen cooperation in this regard, emphasizing that Russia will continue to consistently advocate for political and diplomatic solutions to the Palestinian issue and other regional problems.
