Israeli forces set up military checkpoint near Ramallah, disrupt traffic

RAMALLAH, April 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces set up a military checkpoint on Saturday at the entrance to the village of Yabrud, east of Ramallah.

Local sources reported that Israeli soldiers set up the checkpoint at the village entrance, known as the "Yabrud Bridge," stopped Palestinian vehicles and inspected passengers’ identification cards, and caused severe traffic congestion in the area.

Israeli authorities maintain approximately 1,000 checkpoints and military gates throughout the West Bank, effectively fragmenting Palestinian movement between cities and towns.

Since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran, these military checkpoints and gates have been subject to significant tightening, further restricting the movement of Palestinians.
