The overall Construction Cost Index (CCI) reached 109.23 in June 2010 with a decrease of 0.73% compared with the previous month, (December 2007=100), and the overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.59 in June 2010 with a decrease of 0.37% compared with the previous month. (December 2008=100 ), and the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 103.20 in June 2010 with a decrease of 0.89% compared with the previous month, (January 2010=100), and the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 102.09 in June 2010 with a decrease of 0.47% compared with the previous month. (January 2010=100).
Analysis of Construction Cost developments for June indicates changes in the following major construction inputs compared with the previous month: Iron and steel - 5.80%; Quarries and quarrying products -0.34%; Cutting and shaping stones - 0.19%; Ceramic products + 0.16%; Cement, lime & gypsum + 0.15% and Tiles and panels from ceramic + 0.14%.
Analysis of Road Cost developments for June indicates changes in the cost of the following major road inputs compared with the previous month: Iron and steel - 6.31%; Asphalt and bitumen mixture and its product - 0.60%; Electric wires and cables - 0.30%; Quarries and quarrying products + 0.52%; and Cement products + 0.24%.
Analysis of Water Networks Cost Index developments for June indicates changes in the cost of the following major Water Networks inputs compared with the previous month: Water Reservoirs - 2.49%; Iron - 6.57%; Construction work and paint - 2.45%; Concrete + 0.16%; Excavation + 0.36%; Water Networks - 0.13%; Deface Materials - 0.78%; Asphalt, bitumen mixture and its products - 0.59%; Excavation + 0.36% and Plastic and steel pipes + 0.96%.
Analysis of Sewage Networks Cost Index developments for June indicates changes in the cost of the following major Sewage Networks inputs compared with the previous month: Plastic and Cements Pipes - 1.34%;Wages and other costs - 0.92%; Deface Materials - 0.78%; Asphalt, bitumen mixture and its products - 0.59%; Excavations + 0.36%; and Fountains + 0.49%.
PCBS noted that data of Gaza Strip is not available, due to the closure of PCBS’ offices in Gaza Strip since 15/04/2008.
It also noted that the difference in the percent change in major groups of Road, Construction, water networks, and sewage networks Cost Index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
