RAMALLAH, May 13, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Education and Higher Education affirmed that the unprecedented escalation in violations by Israeli forces and colonist militias against Palestinian schools and educational institutions threatening students' right to a safe and stable education.
The Ministry affirmed that this reveals a systematic policy targeting the entire education sector in a clear attempt to undermine the Palestinian educational mission and violate the sanctity of educational institutions and universities.
It pointed to the Israeli military raid earlier Wednesday on Silat al-Dhahr Secondary School for Boys, describing it a new attack added to the ongoing series of violations against Palestinian schools.
It noted that the same school was raided by Israeli colonists several days ago, a dangerous incident reflecting the extent of the systematic targeting of Palestinian education, its students, and its teaching staff.
The Ministry also condemned the colonists or spray-painting racist and hostile graffiti on the walls of Qadri Tuqan School, affirming the act part of a barbaric campaign targeting Palestinian educational institutions. This campaign aims to spread fear and incite violence, and to attack the national and educational symbolism of schools.
It called on international institutions and global organizations defending children’s rights and education to take urgent action to halt such violations, to take a firm and explicit stance regarding the systematic targeting of Palestinian education, to hold Israel accountable, and to expose its violations in all diplomatic, political and media forums.
