Arab Countries Send Medical Aid to Gaza

RAMALLAH, December 28, 2008 (WAFA)- Medical institutions are sending aid to the Gaza Strip from Ramallah and Egypt, to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians under Israeli fire since Saturday morning.

 

The Palestinian Ministry of Health sent out four trucks carrying pharmaceutics and medical equipment to Gaza hospitals. They are expected to arrive in the Gaza Strip Sunday night, according to the Palestinian Minister of Health, who demanded the international community to intervene and make sure the medical aid is delivered to Gazans.

 

On the Egyptian side, the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Dr. Hatem Al-Jabali confirmed that all hospitals north of Sinai are ready to receive and give medical care to Palestinians injured in the Israeli aggression on Gaza. He added that more than 30 ambulances have been sent to the north of Sinai to transport injured Palestinians, and that they are provided with medical teams to deal with critical cases.

 

In addition, Palestine Hospital in Cairo sent, Sunday, a group of medics and specialized doctors to the Palestinian-Egyptian borders to aid injured Gazans and to transport them to different hospitals in Egypt.

 

Three trucks carrying Egyptian and Qatari medical equipment arrived at the Palestinian- Egyptian borders, Sunday morning, and are pending transport to the Gaza Strip.
