AL-Khaleej: No Talking about Peace in Light of Settlements
ABU DHABI, January 6, 2008, (WAFA)- United Arab Emirates-based newspaper "al-Khaleej" stressed early Sunday the fact that no way to talk about genuine peace and an independent Palestinian state in light of settlement activities.
In its editorial, the newspaper wondered " how can a resolution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict be found with the existence of settlements and how comes that such settlements are legal while they are established on occupied territories ?".
"Such Jewish settlements in the West Bank, its round-about roads, other lands seized under security pretexts, military bases, the lands seized for the sack of the Apartheid Wall, and settlements in Jerusalem constitute more than 30% of the whole West bank area", the newspaper added.
The newspaper, in conclusion, called on the U.S administration to move toward a logical solution; completely removing all settlements in the Palestinian Occupied Territories (OPT).
