GAZA, December 30, 2007 (WAFA)-The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights(PCHR) Condemned on Sunday the attacks perpetrated by Hamas militias against the headquarters of "Fatah" Movement and the campus of Al-Azhar University and institutions in Gaza City as well the arrest campaign.

In a statement, PCHR called on Hamas to halt its attacks and respect the right of associations and other rights and public freedoms that are guaranteed constitutionally.

PCHR called for respecting the sanctity of universities and academic institutions.

PCHR concluded that searches and arrests are organized by the Palestinian law and are within the competence of law enforcement officers and they are subject to the orders and direct supervision of the Attorney General.
