President Receives Quartet's Envoy to Mideast Peace Process
RAMALLAH, September 6, 2007 (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas received on Thursday in the Presidential HQ in Rmallah Quartet envoy to Middle East peace process, Mr. Toni Blair.
Head of PLO Negotiation Department, Dr. Saeb Ereikat said that the meeting tackled number of issues related to the current political talks between President and Israeli Prime Minister.
Ereikat added that the meeting also stressed the necessity to creat new atmosphere on the ground, economical development and ending the Israeli military occupation, which tears up the West Bank and turns it to isolated areas as well as ending the strict siege that the Gaza Strip has been living in.
Ereikat made it clear that there are serious and deepen talks between Abbas and Olmert on the main political issues, including the necessity of implementing the Road Map, Arab peace Initiative and American President Bush vision on the independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital alongside Israel.
