RAMALLAH, April 13, 2026 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian civilians were killed on Monday after being targeted by Israeli gunfire in separate incidents in the southern Gaza Strip.
The two fatalities were identified as, Mahmoud Suleiman al-Faqawi and Muhammad Mahfouz Shallouf, who both were fatally shot by Israeli soldiers near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of Khan Younis and in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a related incident, an Israeli armored engineering force carried out a limited incursion into the vicinity of al-Hashimiya School near Salah al-Din Street, east of the al-Tuffah neighborhood in northeastern Gaza City.
Local sources reported that the force began bulldozing land and demolishing remaining homes in the area, amidst gunfire from accompanying Merkava tanks. Intermittent artillery shelling was also reported targeting the surrounding area.
The death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,333, with 172,014 wounded, since the start of the offensive on October 7, 2023.
Thousands of victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or on the streets. However, emergency responders are struggling to reach them due to a lack of essential equipment for debris removal and rescue operations.
