President Receives Austrian Chancellor
RAMALLAH, September 4, 2007 (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas received on Tuesday in the Presedential HQ in Ramallah, Austrian Chancellor Mr. Alfred Gusenbauer.
President discussed with his guest a number of issues of common interest to Palestine, Austria and the two peoples as well as the security and stability of the peoples of the region, particularly the peace process and the vital role played by Austria in the framework of the European Union to launch a genuine peace process leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state within the borders of 4 June 1967 and with Jerusalem as its capital and finding a just and agreed solution to the issue of millions of Palestinian refugees.
The two leaders also discussed the international meeting to be held next autumn, and the EU's role in making this conference a window and an opportunity to find a just, comprehensive and lasting solution of the Palestinian and Arab-Israeli conflict.
"This requires first, the presence of all parties concerned in the peace process, including Syria and Lebanon and reaching a clear, unequivocal and unambiguous framework agreement and not subject to interpretation on all final status issues and the various files." President said.
