OIC Welcomes Formation of National Unity Governmnet
GAZA, March 18, 2007, (WAFA)-The Secretary General of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has welcomed the formation of the national unity government.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Mr. Ihsanoglu told reporters that he expressed on behalf of the OIC and on behalf of 57 Islamic states deep compliment for this great achievement, affirming the OIC full support to the Palestinian cause.
Mr. Ihsanoglu called on the international community to back the new government and lift siege so as the peace process, which leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state, could be continued.
