15 Activists Arrested in Bethlehem, others Wounded
BETHLEHEM, February 28, 2007, (WAFA)-Israeli occupation Forces (IOF) arrested Wednesday 15 international pacifists protesting Israeli bulldozers work on the lands of Um Salmona village, south Bethlehem. Head Popular Committee of Anti- Settlement and Wall, Khalid al-Azza said.
Ezza added that hundreds of citizens and international activists, including Israelis of Peace Movement participated in the sit-in to confront the Israeli bulldozers and stop work on the lands parallel to Wadi al-Nees village.
Israeli soldiers prevented participants reaching the site and attacked them with rifles butts, causing injuries and bruises among them. While the soldiers attacked journalists and banned them covering the event.
