20 Civilians Wounded by IOF in Hebron
HEBRON, March 23, 2004, (WAFA)- At least twenty Palestinian citizens were wounded Tuesday by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the West Bank city of Hebron, witnesses and medics said.... Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers indiscriminately opened fire at hundreds of citizens who were participating in the funeral procession of Tareq al-Allami, 31, who was killed yesterday by IOF, in Beit Ummar village of Hebron.... "Israeli soldiers shot fire and gas-tear canisters at us while we were carrying the coffin of Tareq", eyewitness Allami's relative said, "at least ten civilians were wounded and tens others suffered suffocation...." Israeli soldiers killed Allami while he was participating in peaceful demonstration protesting the Israeli killing of Sheikh Yassin.... Earlier, in the town of Yatta, four citizens were wounded by Israeli fire.... Israeli soldiers opened heavy fire Tuesday at a demonstration to protest the Israeli assassination of Sheikh Yassin, witnesses told WAFA, medics confirmed.... Two more citizens were also wounded, and others suffered gas inhalation, in the neighborhood of Bab al-Zawiyeh, in the Old City of Hebron.... The Old City of Hebron and other neighbourhoods are still under Israeli curfew for the second consecutive day....
