Palestinian Schoolboys Express Solidarity with Spain
Ramallah, March 18, 2004, (WAFA)- 1.2 Million Palestinian schoolboys, in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Thursday, have observed a one minute of silence, expressing solidarity with the people of Spain... During his meeting with Jose Ferre the Spanish Consul General, Naim Abu al-Hummos, Palestine Minister of Education, expressed the Palestinian people’s solidarity and condolences with the people of Spain on the victims of the latest brutal explosions in Madrid.... During Ferre's visit to "Modern Applied School" in Ramallah, schoolboys observed minute of silence while carrying the flag of Spain.... Palestinian Ministry of Education (MOE) said in a statement, onThursday, that Palestinian schoolboys, who are exposed to the daily crimes of the Israeli Occupation Forces, call upon the world and human conscience to resist brutalities on earth, and to show solidarity with the people of Spain.... "The Palestinian children appeal to the national and international human rights organizations to stop bloodshed and work for a peaceful and secure world," MOE added.... As the Palestinian children are truly aware of the tragedy of losing their beloved ones, they express their deep sympathy with their friends,the people of Spain, and pray for the souls of the innocent victims to rest in peace, MOE stated.... According to Abu al-Humos, 700 Palestinian pupils and 176 university students were killed by Israeli Occupation Forces since the beginning of the Intifada in Sept. 2000....
