GAZA, March 18, 2004 (WAFA)-, An all-party group of British parliamentarians visiting Gaza slammed Israel for its inhumane treatment of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.... The Independent daily newspaper reported on Thursday that British parliamentarians, spoke of the "fear and anxiety" they had encountered among Palestinians on their 36-hour fact-finding tour, organized by the British and Irish charity Christian Aid.... “The current stance of the Israeli government is unfair and will not produce peace and current treatment of people in the West Bank and Gaza by the Israeli government is not justified”, MPs said.... John Bercow, the shadow International Development Secretary, said to reporters I can now realize why young men with no job, no prospects and no way of providing for their families, blow themselves up. We must be aware of the depth of unemployment and hopelessness in Gaza....
