RAMALLAH, Saturday, July 11, 2020 (WAFA) – The number of coronavirus cases in Palestine kept its upward trend today with the recording of 463 cases in the last 24 hours, most of them in the Hebron district, the current epicenter of the disease in Palestine, bringing the overall total to 6688, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
It said that of the new cases, 328 were in the Hebron district, of whom 119 in the city itself and the rest in area towns and villages, 83 in East Jerusalem, and 34 in Jalazoun refugee camp in Ramallah.
The Ministry had earlier reported two deaths due to corona in the West Bank town of Yatta and in Aida refugee camp, bringing the total corona-related deaths to 32, including 28 in the West Bank, three in Jerusalem and one in the Gaza Strip.
It said that 119 patients have recovered, of whom 102 were in the Hebron district and 17 in the Nablus area, bringing the overall recoveries in Palestine to 829, including 595 in West Bank, 60 in the Gaza Strip and 174 in East Jerusalem.
Of the total 6688 corona cases, the West Bank had 5859, Gaza 72 and East Jerusalem 757.
The West Bank is still under a two-week lockdown that ends on Monday in an effort to control the disease.
