RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 08, 2020 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health said today that it has recorded 475 new cases of coronavirus in Palestine, the majority in the Hebron district, raising the total in Palestine to 5567.

It said 316 of the new cases were recorded in Hebron area and 93 in East Jerusalem while the rest in the Ramallah, Bethlehem Tulkarm, Nablus and Jericho areas.

The Ministry said 21 patients are kept in intensive care while five of them are on respirators.

The Ministry of Health had earlier reported one fatality from coronavirus – a 62-year-old man in Hebron – raising the total corona-related fatalities to 23, of whom 18 were in the West Bank, four in East Jerusalem and one in the Gaza Strip.

Of the total cases, 4957 are in the West Bank, including 434 who have recovered.

The Gaza Strip had 72 cases, of whom 60 have recovered, and 538 in occupied East Jerusalem of whom 174 have recovered.

The overall recoveries in Palestine reached 668.
