Ministry of Health: 306 new coronavirus cases in West Bank in last 24 hours; total tops 5000

 

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health said today it recorded 306 new cases of coronavirus in the West Bank in the last 24 hours, the majority in the Hebron district, raising the overall total in Palestine to 5092.

It said in its daily briefing on the coronavirus pandemic in Palestine that out of the 306 cases, 278 were in the Hebron district in the south of the West Bank, the current epicenter of the disease in Palestine, eight in the Jerusalem area, eight in the Bethlehem district, six in Ramallah district, four in Tulkarm and two in Nablus.

A total of 23 patients are in intensive care in various locations in the West Bank, said the Ministry, including six kept on respirators. Of the 23 cases, nine are in Hebron, two in Nablus, seven in Bethlehem, and five in Ramallah.

The Ministry said three patients have recovered in Nablus, bringing the overall total of recoveries in Palestine to 668 (434 in the West Bank, 60 in the Gaza Strip and 174 in Jerusalem), and 22 deaths total (17 in the West Bank, one in Gaza and four in Jerusalem).

Of the overall total cases in Palestine, 4575 are in the West Bank, 72 in the Gaza Strip, and 445 in occupied East Jerusalem.
