RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 01, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is mainly clear and relatively hot to hot in daytime, with a slight rise in temperature, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Partially cloudy to clear and mild to slightly cold conditions are expected in nighttime. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly wind blows with occasional gusts in daytime, and becomes moderate to active in nighttime. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 28°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Thursday’s temperature is set to further rise and approach 4°C above the seasonal average, intensifying the heat stress.
An additional rise is expected in temperature which approaches 6°C above the seasonal average on Friday, paving the way to dry and very hot conditions in daytime and relatively hot conditions in nighttime.
Saturday’s temperature is set to significantly drop and approach 3°C above the seasonal average, particularly in mountainous districts, decreasing the intensity of the heat stress.
PMD warns people against exposure to sunlight for long period, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and against setting fire to dry grassy areas, particularly on Friday.
